The New 42nd Street Isn’t Going Green.
It IS Green, and Getting Greener Through Many Ongoing Practices.

  • Use of 100-percent Green Power from wind energy.
  •
  • A long-standing, company-wide enviro-friendly cleaning program.

  • New heating and air conditioning systems which have reduced
our use of electrical power by 20 percent.

  • No more incandescent lights, for a total energy savings of more than
85% and a cost savings of at least $50,000 per year.
  •
  • Less and less paper usage.

  • Effective water conservation and filtered tap water to eliminate the
    need for bottled water.

  • Reduction, reuse and recycling of copier paper, newspapers and
magazines, cans and bottles, fluorescent tubes and batteries.

  • Arranging for old computer equipment to be rebuilt and given to
    schools and low income families.

  • A New 42nd Street Green Task Force and Green Team to make
sure company environmental practices are held to the highest standards.

  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
The New 42nd Street Studios building has been registered for a LEED EB (Existing Building) Silver application with the USGBC (United States Green Building Council). LEED developed a green building rating system that sets the highest standard for building construction and maintenance. We are aiming to achieve LEED EB Silver Certification by 2010.
